Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

my father passaway in 2008. My mom is still a live. In may we find out that she has lung cancer. Anyway my great niece which is 6 years old was sleeping talking with my dad. Does this mean he has come back for the my mom or is he just telling us that he is watching over us.
He is not back for your mom. Your great niece has a gift to communicate with him. His visiting of your great niece is to let everyone know he is happy and fine. Are you denying his visiting? I feel he is trying to communicate with you through your great niece.
I’m not doing well since the death of several family members and companion my love. Life is not moving forward I can’t stand to enter our home after dark, I break out in uncontrollable tears at any given time. I’m afraid that my life will end earlier than it should because my heart is breaking, please help me find my way out of this darkness of tears, please.
I feel like I have been crazy all my life. But a lot of what I have been through has been explained to me by watching different medium and pysic shows. I have had a vey colored past with abuse rape abuse and stalking from men. More than the norm. I have tried to kill myself several times. But have been spared more than four times. I need to know what my life is about because I and every hospital I have stayed at are so clue less. I have 6 children and seven grandchildren and my life still has no meaning. I do have ghost that I believe follow me sense I was little. My mom yid not want to hear it. I was punished, for it. Stuck out side in the dark by myself till I didn’t hear it anymore. I just want to know where do I go from here.

She has been praying to meet you because she just wants closure from her mother and she feels guilty for not being there because we stay all the way in NC and my grandmother passed in NJ. Whenever you get a chance I would like for you to meet with my mother.
Hello Teresa, my dad’s father died when he was young. My dad tells me all these stories about his dad. Right know I feel as if someone is watching me write this. Crazy right. Not kidding. I’m not an adult. So I don’t know if it’s my mind or what. Haha. But back to what I was saying. My dads birthday is in November. And we arnt in a good place. You see when my dad’s dad died, my dad told me he wasn’t sure if him and his dad were in a good place. My dad has many regrets, which makes him get upset really easy. And by maybe talking through you, they can talk. And it will maybe lift so much weight off of his shoulders! I am getting this feeling like a happy cry and as I write this I’m tearing up… But I’m am happy and I’m confused. Back to what I was saying. Me and my dad have lost our relationship. And I need to have a father figure in my life and I want it to be my daddy. But slowly were drifting. And by lifting all this regret and hurt and sadness we can fix things and he will be happier. Please please please, help me with my father.

I watch your show every week . love love love it. when you go back on the road i’d like to put a request in for me. I’ve been threw a little to much latley. My brother, mother and I lost our dad 3-18-11 and it’s been really hard for us. I’ve seen him at local taverns i’ve seen him in the back window of a car infront of me. recently my brother had a stroke. was on life support. He’s now in a nursing home and my mom drives back and fourth everyday to take care of him. retirement is not in her future yet so she get’s to bring him home on the weekends just for the day. this past weekend was really hard. we could not get my brother off his bed. we left him alone for a little while and then tried to get him up and out to take him back to the nursing home. he said to us ” is he going to be there”? finally we said “yes” dad will be there and then he got up and got in the car.
I just want to know if my dad is there with him. I know he’s with me . My brother has suffered short term memory loss and talks about the dead..he gets mad when I try to explain things. He looks at me wierd and says ” Stacey he’s been here all day what’s wrong with you” tough love us two

Dear Theresa,My sister loss her husband 2 years ago,I don,t know if you can help her.They had a love that was so deep for each other,it is a love that our other sister and I wish we could have.The problem is she is still in deep depression still.We try to help her as much as we can talking with her but it just doesn,t seem to help her.I just don,t know what tom do for her anymore.We love her so very much.If you would have any ideas we would love to hear from you.Thank you for being hear for the living and for the people who have passed. 9 pm to 10 pm – i am watching your show and i had to turn it off because of all the noise, ringing, bells or whatever the noise was. I could not even hear you speaking or the others. horrible racket.
