Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

First, didn’t know what to put for website. I’m Lisa. I watch your show a lot. Don’t know how to say this, because for most of my life, I didn’t accept it. I know I have a gift to give messages to loved ones who have had someone who has passed. I was very young, about five, when I knew something was different. Only in the past 4 years, approximately, have I connected with this gift of mine. I have found that I can’t tell a whole lot of people because of the block people put up to accept the signs that their loved ones are trying to connect.
I have not only seen people who have passed, but am able to communicate with them. I don’t lie and the only person close to me knows/accepts this gift.
For example: My mother’s house was built in the 1950’s by an artist and I have encountered him in her bedroom. He comes around to see his house and is very pleased at how it has progressed. The strongest connection with this man is when I’m in the master suite because that is where most of the original features remain.
I’m currently dating a widow and have connected with his past wife. My boyfriend doesn’t accept this gift either and asks me to stop when I am reading for him. I have told him that his wife wants him to know that she is happy, that she wants him to be happy, and that she accepts me in his life. Last week, he mentioned that he saw her more than once and had some nightmares and I tried to tell him that that is JoAnn telling him she’s ok on the other side, not to be sad anymore, and to accept moving forward.
I also communicate frequently with my grandparents as well as a cousin who commited suicide.
I guess I want to be able to talk to you because this is a gift to me. I accept it for me, but don’t know how to share it with others. I really hope you contact me, because I have no doubt that this gift is real and is truly a gift.

my brother senses a ghost in our living room downstairs. he has multiple stories that he has seen this ghost he has named “Maureen” and that she has tried to attack him. also, there are signs in our house that she has marked. My dad died in 1985 of a heart attack. he wanted to see me. I was suppose to meet with him that day. He was getting ready for me to come visit and he had a heart attack. I never got to say goodbye. My mom never had any kind of last respects paid to him he was just gone and that was that. My mom wanted everything out of the house that was he’s as soon as possible. Your dad loves you and wants you to know that he is ok even though you weren’t there. He has you on his mind all the time and wants you to let go of the negative thoughts and actions that occurred after his passing. Commemorate him in your own way and know he is always with you.

Your loved one is communicating that they are ok and happy on the other side. They do not want you to dwell on it and know that they are with you all the time.

Yes, he definitely knows you are his granny. Although you never met, he has a strong connection to you. Loved ones that pass ahead of their time is hard to accept and he wants you to know that he has always wanted to meet you, but also wants you to know that he knows you and loves you. Continue to visit him and help him to know that you are not suffering here on Earth because of the loss.

Yes, he is at peace and that is why you think of him all the time. He stays around you all the time because of his love for you. He really wants you to find peace in knowing he is ok and he loves you very much.
