Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I have a daughter that will be three next month. I have always believed that she sees something. When she was an infant my daughter was seeing something(s) because I would have her in her swing and all of a sudden she would be looking at nothing and just start to giggle. This happened multiple times. Then at about the age of 1 and a half we were at breakfast with one of my aunts and she looked at my aunt and said “grandmas here” that would be my mother my aunts sister who died two years earlier and never met my daughter. Now just recently my daughter at the age of 2 almost 3 has started to see things on the ceiling. She asks me to lift her up so she can touch the shadows. When I do lift her up she doesn’t ever tough the ceiling but stops just short and starts to smile and giggle. When I ask what the shadows look like she get this mischievous grin on her face as if she doesn’t want me to know. Same for when I ask her what the shadows are saying to her. One time she described the shadows as animals. Is this how the spirits are appearing to her. Or could it just be an over active imagination of a child. Please help, I don’t think that whatever it is means my daughter harm but as a mother I would just like to know that my daughter is safe.

I am a 62 Vietnam Veteran with PTSD and I have important UNFINISHED BUSINESS WITH SPIRIT. Please, I need your help. I am volunteering to be a subject on your TV show if that helps you. My Older Brother Clifford Booth Jr. passed away in June of last year. He is my only brother. (No sisters) We are both Vietnam Veterans. I didn’t find out he passed until last September when I called him in Montana on his birthday as I always do. His wife kept hanging up the phone and wouldn’t talk to me. She hated our family. On an intuition, my wife Janet checked the obituaries where my brother lived. Sure enough, Clifford Jr. had passed away in June and I didn’t find out until September!!!.
The funeral home nor the local authorities wouldn’t tell me anything about his passing. So, I don’t know if he died of natural causes or there was foul play involved in his death. If I don’t talk to you, I will never know what happened to my brother. I don’t want to leave this life without finding out what happened to him. Our Dad passed away in 1993 and Mom passed away in 2004. I AM THE ONLY ONE LEFT IN OUR FAMILY. I cannot tell you how important this is. My best friend of 40 years, Joey Bufalino will come with me to New York as he is from West Hempstead, Long Island. Our families were very close. Joe is an accomplished concert producer and will come with me to see you.
If you cannot see me there, then maybe I could attend one of your shows in either Austin, Houston or Beverly Hills as those are closer to me in Albuquerque. I will buy tickets for your show. Please tell me if you can help.
