Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Although i do watch your show time to time, My mother is a big fan. She has suffered from breast cancer BUT overcame ands fought through it. As much as a daughter likes to look at her own mother as this strongwilled person. I do not. She thinks she is going to die with every doctors appointment and/or ache or pain she feels. Sadly, she has passed this onto me. I think the losses in her life (which she has been experiencing since she was young) has created this perception that she will not live long. I know you are a very busy woman. But we need your help. I am 30, about to be married in 2 months, and do not want to pass this “life is short” mentality onto my children. I love my mother she is my world. I just think her grieving has gotten the best of her. With all my love, from my family to yours. Thanks and hope to hear from you. If not. then keep on making people KNOW that life does not end here and continue bringing closure to peoples’ lives. Thanks so much

very confident in offering you own, the more respect and heartache mlta please if you can get in touch with the spirit of my parents, because in their lifetime they have caused many upsets and even if I could not have died keep up with life and feel like I failed there, all I want is that at least now they can transfer that I’m very sorry for all what happened during their lifetime and after their death, and that I ask forgiveness tell them that I love and that I miss them every day and also thank them mau helped to raise my boy has become a man and take special care of me

Theresa, my son was in a bad wreck on July 25, 2013. The driver(my brother’s girlfriend) was killed on impact. My 3 yr old says that she talk to him after the wreck and told him to “go in the firetruck and get his cast on” We miss her so much and would love to hear from her. You are a concerned mother and feel the pain of your children’s sorrow and disappointments. As a mother and empath I also feel for my children. Their father died a horrific death and the consequences of his absence is unbearable at times. Life has been very hard for us and we have conquered many demons. I know his spirit is present at times, but living in such a visual world , my children would benefit from another person’s validation of his presence. Try to fit us in.

Hey Theresa! I been watching your show even more since my uncle Matt death. He die on July 5,2011. It was so hard having to know my uncle had die I could not believe he pass away I been thinking it was me and my family, I really want to know how he die and he okay where ever he at. Every time I get that feeling when I watch tv/movies and even play my PlayStation3 games I could not get get that feeling of my uncle Matt passing to go away after two years, I really know he ok. I have an old friend that her husband trained my daughter in Equestrian Horse riding. We had a falling out and moved on to another trainer. My daughter tried to reach out him with a note an her prize list book that had her name and Jason her trainer showing that they were no longer training together but thanking him for what he has done for her. She was 1 in the United States for M&S. Her and Jason were close showing every weekend and training all week for a few years. He had just passed away from a massive heart attack while driving his tractor at the horse farm. She never had closure with Jason her trainer but worst of all he left behind his wife and 2 beautiful children 3 & 5. He was only 40. He has touched so many young girls lives in training horses. He was the head of a horse program training kids horse riding. He was a great trainer, friend, father and a husband. I would love to give back to his wife for our time we have been a part to give her closure on her loss of her husband. She also works training and running this amazing program with her husband Jason. She could use the closure so she can move on knowing everything will be ok and she can continue on helping many more kids and her own. We are in NJ not far from you. He has a ton of students that qualified for the 4h state show and others that made it to show at the same show I did years ago M&S finals that you train and compete all year for points to qualify and there trainer who has got them this far has passed away. Please Help his wife, children and students by doing a medium for her. You will be helping so many by helping this one person find closure or that everything will be ok again…… Thank you please help my heart breaks for her and her loss. Thank you, Jumper Girl
