Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi Theresa. I am thirteen and My mother’s mom died of breast cancer. She misses her insanesly and I think it hurts her everyday. She was with her when she took her last breath. My mom has 2 sisters and a brother. I think what my mom desperately needs is just some closure. I think that she really needs this.I think they all really do. I just saw your show today and thought you were amazing. I would love to be able to see you but I live in Guelph Ontario, Canada and know I cannot afford to come and see you. But before my mom passed away I asked yer to please look after me and my family. She shook her head with a yes,and I only need to know if she is guiding me. I sometimes feel like there is no hope and that I will have to work until I’m 90 just to keep a roof over my head. I’m tired and I would love to know that she is going to make sure that I and my family will be ok. I thank you in advance for any form Of acknowlegement you can give me.
Hi Teresa, I have watched your show ever since I found out about it and I truly love the show. I know that you are very busy, however my family has been going through so many problems that I would really love to speak with you. One grandson got into a serious problem and he says he didn’t do anything. I would like to know what if anything you see concerning this problem. Then I have a step-granddaughter who is paralized due to illness, she has two children ages 7 and 10. We are so stressed out and don’t know what to do. Can you help our family in any manner?

I just want to start off by saying that I love your show. It had me in tears everytime but it was so moving. I’m no different than anyone else that has commented. I’m 21 years old and I unexpectedly lost my mom in August of 2011 and she was only 50. My mom was my everything. She was my rock and best friend. All I’m asking is for you to give me answers that I cant seem to find. My heart is simply broken and I need to start healing and moving forward. I will continue to watch your show. My sister Barbara, had a rough life. She passed away 3 years ago. She was 62 years old.
I had a most unusual dream the other night. A psychic in my dream, said Barbara is here to see you, but she is in a dark place and very confused. A hudge mist blew from behind me and through me. I knew it was her, it continued very fast up to the middle of the room, where she manifested. She looked young and beautiful. She seemed to be ok. I believe our communication was telepathic.

What is wrong with you doug? These ppl are desperately searching for peace and closure. Where is your compassion or human kindness for pete’s sake? Does it affect you in anyway if they post what they do? I doubt that! Let them get it out there and don’t worry about it how they are using it unless it affects you personally! Hope you have more compassion out there in your life!
