Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi Teresa your show is wonderful, you remind me of My cousin Joan . She was a medium in the Phila area for over 40 years and was involved with many people, law enforcement and corporations.She has passed on and we all miss her deeply. At a young age I watched her , not knowing what it was all about .Later having her be there for myself and my daughters when a great loss happened in our family. Like you she was outgoing , compassionate , funny and was a great source of support and strength to all especially my youngest Angelina. I ask TLC to please keep your show and that your family be tolerant of all the time and love you give to other , They have a special wife and mother in their lives.

Hi Theresa this is linda creeks grandauter, We all lost a very important person in are lives my aunt my grandmothers child, Her name is Michelle kinney but she was born the name Michelle Sherrill she just resently passed on june 1st do to things we just dont belive. My grandma is just hert broken like the rest of us but her the most because it is her daught that has passed, she does well some days but others not so well because she just doesnt know what happened that dredfull night of her death. My 17 year old son Brian died on July 12th, 1990 in a motorcycle accident.
He died at the scene. I never got to say goodbye to him.
Can you tell me if he is doing OK up there in HEAVEN?

Teresa, I have seen images and yes people all my life. But more so after the passing of my brother in law in 1979. He has spoken to me in a camp graound and touch my hair in my own bedroom. He has warned me of an accident that would have taken my unborn daughter if not for the words “put on your seat belt”. I know he is here withe me – at least I believe its him. I am just wondering if you can tell me if it is him. Or is it someone else trying to guide my life. I have seen others as well, just passing through on their way to where ever they must go. I have been told I am crazy when I do see someone or sense they are here. I dont listen anymore. It would so comfort me if I knew who this is that has been in my head and life for the last 33 or so years. Can you help me? I know you are so very busy with everyone wanting something from you. My family holds a Dead Daddy Barbecue each year on or as close to our father’s deathaversary (as we now call it). We will be having the DDBBQ July 7th 2012 all of my brothers, mother and my father’s sister attend the barbecue along with about 100 people (family and friends).
