Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I have a hard time beliving what you do is real. When i watch your TLC show i think that everything is set up. Harsh words i know, but i need to see you do your ability under scientific conditions, and i would not like to see you talk your way out of why it would not work.
I watches the end of your first season, all I can say is WOW..I so wish I lived close so I could see you, however I am in Canada so unlike I would ever meet you. Will I ever win the lottery?
I have lost three generations of females in my family suddenly & tragicly ‘m desperate for answers. I thought loosing my Mother would be the hardest thing i would ever go through until i lost my 23 yr. old daugter once again i thought that was going to be the worst thing i would ever go through until my 9 mo. old Grand Daugter passed away as i was sitting right next to her rubing her little back. PLEASE…………..I am in desperate need of your gift so i might have closure to why God has taken away my Mother ~ Oct.2006 My Daughter ~ April 2011 and my Sweet GrandDaughter ~ 2011. My heart is broken since my mother and fathers passing. I want to know if they are ok.
I know u r probably really buissy but if u woul take a moment to read thanks well my mom whent in to have surgery in november of 2005 and I made the appointment for her but she didnt want to go but I made it any way because I didnt want her to go through any more pain and I wanted her to get better but on november 9 of 2005 she passed away after that surgery and I have always thought and still think that it is my falt that she would still be here if it wasnt for me she was my mom and my best friend I have two kids and she pasted away right befor both of my kids birthdays my son was rushed to the hospital one week before turning 1 and I was scared and she wasnt her to see him and to help me it has been so hard to go through each day with her not here I got divorced and I need to just talk to her and she isnt here just little things I need to talk to her about and need a hug and she is not here I just believe in my heart if I wouldent have made the doctors appointment for her she would still be here and my kids would have there grandmother I fell so alone in this world without her well thank you so very much for reading this. My mother in law passed away almost 3 years ago. She was fine one week, then the next week she passed. I would like to know if she knew that there was something wrong with her and she never told anyone in her family. I would like to also know if she left anything behind for her older son that she had, Or if she would like to say anything to her older son. I also need to know if she is watching over her two grandchildren that she never got to meet. Please respond I’ve been waiting to long to find out what is going on. trying to find closure with my husbands death in 2008. I miss him terribly. if he comes to visit and if hes taking care of the family. will there be more grandchildren? and if i will find someone to continue life with or will i be alone.
