What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

I will be ending my twc this week. I paid way to much just to have one channel I liked. FOX what the heck we have enough sport channels out there and many of your own. Speed had all the shows we liked and you messed that up too. No more for me.
I second that, jay leno. What will happen to Barrett Jackson, all the other gearhead shows we all love. Fox, You just lost one more of the demographic you aimed for: northeast-metropolitan area professional educated resident with disposable income. Gigantic error of judgement.
I did not get Verizon Fios to watch the Fox channel. I wanted to see the Speed channel.It is one of my favorites. This is just another example of selfish greed. I’ve paid a lot of money for a long time watch Verizon’s programing and this is just the little push I needed to cut back on the service s they provide. I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Thanks!!
Come on fox I do watch Fox News I’m conservative but the speed channel was part of my life. From Gearz to Barrett Jackson to Pass Time. Damn I’m upset.
if we want fox to put back speed then we need to send letters to all the sponecers on fox and let them know that we will boycott their products until they bring back speed. we have to go after their dollars.
This is just another example of large business taking over what we watch. Fox news is one sided and wants to force it’s view on those who watch it. Now it’s happening with this sports channel. Giving the masses what they “need”, as provided by those with wealth and influence, not what the people really enjoy. All in the name of greed. Bring back speed.
The first channel I really wanted when I signed up for Direct TV was Speed. I have been a dedicated speed fan for 15 years and now they cheated on me like a cheap whore! No notice, just jump in bed with all the other stupid ball channels! I like wheels not balls BITCH! Give me back my SPEED!
Freaking great!! Another mind numbing “me too” channel!! Thanks fox for fucking up the one channel on cable that featured shows for those who like to work on their cars as well as feature sports of ” real ” athletes!! Although the speed channel may have been deemed as the “dumb redneck” station, it was much more fun to watch for this “white collar” educated redneck than 90% of the other fake horseshit networks!!

Usually people who like car related sports do not like football, soccer etc and vice versa. They don’t mix. We all know this but apparantly fox does not. There should be one channel dedicated to cars ONLY. They can have their all football channels as well but keep them seperate!
Fox already had 6 channels on uverse. Why another one?Trying to keep up with ESPN?No more grassroots on TV.
