What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

I guess I was shortchanged by dish network. I am now paying for something I do not want and lost interesting events auto related. I followed these programs punctually…They (Dish),should have had the courtesy to inform the subscribers first.

Taking Speed off the air was a move that obviously, was done because of the “Upper Level” management, at the networks, with shall we say, have alternative life styles. A BUNCH OF QUEERS !!!! I do have to say though, that now I can go back to over the air broadcast, as the only reason I have a cable account was, because of the car programing, on Speed. Stick and ball sports are OK, but holly SH!&, how many channels does it take to report on the Drugs heads anyway………….

What a stupid idea. I realize that FOX wanted to compete with ESPN so that they can command more money, but why get rid of the best all-around car oriented venue in the process. I never watch ESPN unless they’re showing the NHRA races. I have no desire to watch Fox Sports 1 just to see a different group of self-absorbed muscle-heads talk about baseball/football/hockey/soccer/etc. I’m sorry to see SPEED go, and am considering cancelling my Verizon subscription because of it. There wasn’t much else there to watch besides SPEED. Bad decision FOX.

Ah, morning 2 of FS1. Reporting the same thing as ESPN and ESPN2. Where is my morning Race Hub? NHRA report? Grand-Am high lights? Formula 1 report? Where the hell is Dave Despain and Robin Miller’s report on Indy cars? What happened this weekend in motocross and the F1 bikes? Fox you missed the point taking SPEED, and it will make millions hate you for it!
