What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

Just what we need, more, mundane NASCAR crap.
What I loved about SPEED was motorcycle racing, Rolex series, Formula I, all forms of road racing, boat racing, Barret Car Auction.

I always knew that the Time Warner executives had their head up their butts. They just PROVED it again. MYself, my children, my dad, my brother, etc.. all gonna drop TW because this along with BBCA and a few others were the few reasons we subscribe. Here I come Hulu, Netflix &/or all the others. Even going to sell my TIVO on eBay
what the f***! speed network was one of those few networks that I watched consistently. delete Fox Sports and bring back Speed network and all that wonderful Automotive & racing programming.Fox Sports take your money and conservatism elsewhere. Guess I’ll be spending more time on the internet and less time watching you. Bring Speed Network back!
The speed channel offered such a great variety of auto events with people that were a part that world. I just tried to watch FS1 and the first thing I heard was a comment that Jimmy Johnson did not finish the race today and thus lost his hopes of getting a win to help him make the chase.
Jimmy Johnson is already locked into the chase as any fan of nascar knows. So now we get a token effort and lots of the same old sports thats on a dozen plus stations. Fox how could you be so dumb. You just lost 1000s of viewers that no one else had.

I agree with everyone else. this is bull. I’m a motor head too, and this is not good. You have gone too far. If I wanted to watch another sport I would change channels to. I only watched the speed channel for one reason. (MOTOR SPORTS) Not ball games.Farewell speed channel. I’ll delete you fox from my programing.

fox 1 sucks. I plan to cancel or reduce my time warner expenditures. We subscribed to TW because of Speed. The replacement is certainly a big downgrade.

I hate this new programing line up and FOX…. you suck. There are endless channels with football 7 days a week. There is this thing called Sunday Ticket too! Motorsports gets the shaft.
Speed was our family channel I would get home from a long days work, and my family and i would gather to watch pass time, pinks, and pinks all out! Now i have no interest in anything you have on this channel. It was my go to channel! I am a motor head and speed was the perfect channel for me. Bring speed back please!
One of the prime reasons for keeping bright house, now has totally gone. Watching speed was my primary go to station.
It’s a shame there is no channel for the gear head. With all the interest in classic and high performance cars, we have to listen to college football, UFC and the such. In order to keep it popular we would need to trash it up like Bar Rescue, Kitchen Nightmares, or some other nonsense that has nothing to do with cars or the appreciation of them. What a shame.
This is the last nail in the coffin for fox sports. Speedtv had an amazing mix of just motorsports from around the globe and was slowly degraded to the “NASCAR Channel”. I, for one, have no interest in anything they show on the new channel and will be getting my Motorsport fix from NBC and the Internet. So Long.
