“What happened to Style network?” will be the question of the evening when Esquire Network officially takes over the the 15-year-old network on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9pm ET with the premiere of Esquire’s 80th. Still in question is whether new episodes of Giuliana & Bill, Jerseylicious, Big Rich Texas and Tia & Tamera will find a home on any of NBCU’s other networks. Some of the shows are expected to simply end their run, while a few will most likely be worked into schedules on E!, Bravo or Oxygen.
UPDATE: Style Network TV to relaunch in Fall 2014! See feature.
E! did confirm plans of airing the most recent seasons of Giuliana & Bill and Tia & Tamera starting in October. E! will begin re-airing Season 3 episodes of Tia & Tamera and already aired episodes of Giuliana & Bill’s sixth season on Tuesday nights starting Oct. 15 at 9pm ET, as well as new episodes of Giuliana & Bill next year. Season 3 of Tia & Tamera actually ended on Style Sunday, Sept. 22, and it’s unknown whether the series will see a fourth season. Oxygen will also be airing a 10-episode marathon of Season 3 of Tia & Tamera beginning Thursday, Sept. 26 at noon ET.
Syndicated series on Style, like Sex and the City, which originally ran on weekends, are interspersed heavily throughout the Esquire schedule, helping fill early morning, late-night and weekend time slots for the new net. Sex and the City, however, is littered all over the NBCU nets — you can catch it on E!, Oxygen and Bravo.
Clean House, which aired for nine seasons on Style, will also show up on Esquire — at least for the first week — filling the Wednesday, Sept. 25 morning block from 6am to 3pm ET.
At launch, Esquire had several original series including Knife Fight, Brew Dogs, Boundless and The Getaway. Similar to Style, Esquire will also help fill its programming schedule with blockbuster movies. The first few weeks, viewers of Esquire can expect titles like Ocean’s Thirteen, Casino Royale, Ghost Rider and Stripes, as well as popular series from Bravo like Million Dollar Listing, Chef Roble and Top Chef, and USA Network series like Psych and Burn Notice.
We will update you with further details on other former Style series as they are announced.
How could you do this to us and with no warning? We were so looking forward to Jerseylicious tonight only to find out the whole Style channel is gone! Do you not realize how many people watched the Style network and how many people you’ve upset that will ban Esquire? Where did you get your marketing degree? Taking a woman’s channel and making it a man’s channel when men have so many other channels is plain ridiculous. It’ll be the downfall of Esquire and you have no one to blame but yourself!
Where did the style network go to. Why would they just cut a great network with some of my favorite shows and replace it with such junk. I was a huge fan of Big Rich Texas and Jerseylicious. I am so not impressed with Esquire. Please bring back Big Rich Texas and Jerseylicous. I think if you want any chance of surviving with this new network you should bring back these shows seems like I am not the only who wants those shows back.
I had jerseylicious set on my phone as a reminder that it starts this sunday!! I agree, I am so pissed! I went to watch part 2 of Giulliana and Bill, and the show was gone!!! WTHELLL
I pay extra to our cable company for a box that I got specifically to have Style Network. WTF happened, why was nobody told that Esquire was taking over the Style Network Channel? And now nobody seems to know what channel all the Style shows will be on! Really Great Organization!!!
How the h–l do I get to see Jerseylicious now? Is there now a charge?
What happened! I loved the Style Network. It was my favorite next to Food network. Men will not watch Esquire. You have just lost more than half of you viewing audience Smarten up!
This is terrible!! Style network was a great channel and had shows that were still being recorded not reruns!!! That means people want to see those! Men will never watch anything on the esquire network! I know my boyfriend doesn’t! What a terrible decision! I hope all of the shows from style get picked up and there’s no need for esquire to even be on tv!
So far Esquire Network really sucks. I will not watch it anymore. I liked the Style Network. At least there was some fun stuff to watch.
This really sucks!!! No warning whatsoever. Not even to give any notice at all and advertise the shows on tv as the style channel no mention of a change toEsquire. Style Channel was a favorite and all my shows are gone. Esquire sucks!!! Metrosexual crap! Bring back style channel. Where’s Jerseylicious!! Men won’t watch esquire they have Espn spike golf mlb hockey playboy and porn channel. There are so many movie and talk channels we don’t need more movies. Bring back Peter Perfect! He’s great! And tabatha’s salon and tabatha’s takeover. Keep clean house. It’s great too. Bring back Style!!
why did you take off my favorite shows…tia and tamara and guiliana and bill…won’t be watching your channels any more…stupid move…very disappointed…
get them back…
What the f$@&! Jerseylicious was scheduled to start this Sunday. Why did this happen so abruptly without any warning? Men are not going to watch Esquire. The channel for men is ESPN. Get a clue!
Jerseyliouswill still air this Sunday they signed a deal to stay on the old style channel
Style Network is gone. Unless another network picks up the show it will NOT air.
NBC replay programing dominating Esq. Network. Guess NBC now owns Esq.Net. Hang in there, I’m sure there will be a solution. Maybe Seacrest is working on it right now.
Seriously!!!! I watched more on the style network than any other channel including network TV. Now there is a loser channel called Esquire!!! Someone has NO brains!
This stinks! I loved the style network! New episodes of Giuliani and Bill and well as old favorites like Supernanny. I’ve been wondering why they stopped being recorded on my DVR now I know.
What happened?! Whose brainstorm was it to discontinue the best channel on TV?!
I’m very angry that Style Network is gone! I watched shows on Style all the time. Not a good move at all!!!
The style network had great shows and an enjoyable format. All of a sudden everything is bass ackwards. The programs better show up somewhere. Whoever came up with the ideas for these changes needs to be on the Mars experimental shuttle. We are done with him/her on Earth. Adios.
This sucks! Loved Style Network, what the h happened?….
I am totally pissed about this new channel. It out right suxs. I damn near watch all of the shows that they aired on style. There was no warning or a transition period what so ever, all the shows they have on there now is. Stupid bs. And the thing is style was going to sire alotta new shows this week and us viewer still have no clue as to what is going on. I would surely like to know what is up with Jerseylicious & Big rich Texas?
I totally agree with Tracie about Style just disappearing. I watched most of the programs on style and was looking forward to a new season of some of my favorite shows.Loved Jerseylicious and was looking forward to Tracie’s wedding. I hate what I’ve seen on Esquire and won’t watch it.Is there any way we can see
any of these shows? I’d be happy to leave Time Warner
to be able to see my style shows. I think this sucks
and I’m a great Grand Mother
I have Verizon and my mother has Cablevision. Neither one of us have the Style Network. Esquire it is. Yuck.
Esquire is connected to NBC as I understand it. Who watches NBC ‘cept for the Voice. No I.
What kind of business move is it to replace a Style/womans based channell with a channel for metrosexual men on premiere week? With no prior warning or plans to move half of the shows? NOT a smart one!!! TOTALLY dissatisfied. Dish network reps have less info than we do.
So Dish does have a comment of surprise themselves. Direct has made any comment on this. hmmmmmm
The decision for this change looks less than half baked. Where was the transition plan? Everyone was caught off guard and now they are pissed. Didn’t have to be this way!!!!
