Brooks Brothers introduces “Mad Men”-inspired suit

The Mad Men cultural influence continues. Brooks Brothers has collaborated with award-winning Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant on a limited edition suit inspired by the series, set in a 1960s ad agency. The suit is directly inspired by the razor-sharp ’60s tailoring seen on the characters of Don Draper and Roger Sterling, and reinterpreted for today. The hand-finished suit evokes the clean style and sophistication of the early ’60s, with a trimmer silhouette and period details. Discovery Channel chronicles “Ardi” finding this Sunday

You may have heard the announcement last week of the discovery of 4.4 million-year-old Ardipithecus ramidus — “Ardi,” for short — the oldest hominid skeleton ever found. This Sunday, Oct. 11, Discovery Channel presents an exclusive chronicle of the long journey to get to that announcement. The program, Discovering Ardi, is the result of a 10-year collaboration between the Middle Awash Research Project, which discovered the remains, and Primary Pictures of Atlanta. ABC Family’s popular series Greek will have four books based on the show published by Harlequin (under the Harlequin TEEN brand), the network announced today. “The new Greek Harlequin TEEN titles are a perfect fit with our audience,” says Naz Haider, vice president of business management for ABC Family. “The books will reflect at their core the mix of romance, rivalry, humor and heart that Greek fans have come to love about the series.” The first entry of the book series, Double Date, will be written by Marsha Warner and published in May 2010. Open online casting call held for new FOX comedy pilot

Warner Bros. Television Group has announced an open, online casting call for 18- to 22-year-olds who can pass for a teenager approximately 16 or 17 years old. The two-week search launches today, Oct. 5, and submissions are due by Oct. 16. The open call is for a new comedy pilot for FOX from the executive producers of That ’70s Show.
