“What happened to Style network?” will be the question of the evening when Esquire Network officially takes over the the 15-year-old network on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9pm ET with the premiere of Esquire’s 80th. Still in question is whether new episodes of Giuliana & Bill, Jerseylicious, Big Rich Texas and Tia & Tamera will find a home on any of NBCU’s other networks. Some of the shows are expected to simply end their run, while a few will most likely be worked into schedules on E!, Bravo or Oxygen.
UPDATE: Style Network TV to relaunch in Fall 2014! See feature.
E! did confirm plans of airing the most recent seasons of Giuliana & Bill and Tia & Tamera starting in October. E! will begin re-airing Season 3 episodes of Tia & Tamera and already aired episodes of Giuliana & Bill’s sixth season on Tuesday nights starting Oct. 15 at 9pm ET, as well as new episodes of Giuliana & Bill next year. Season 3 of Tia & Tamera actually ended on Style Sunday, Sept. 22, and it’s unknown whether the series will see a fourth season. Oxygen will also be airing a 10-episode marathon of Season 3 of Tia & Tamera beginning Thursday, Sept. 26 at noon ET.
Syndicated series on Style, like Sex and the City, which originally ran on weekends, are interspersed heavily throughout the Esquire schedule, helping fill early morning, late-night and weekend time slots for the new net. Sex and the City, however, is littered all over the NBCU nets — you can catch it on E!, Oxygen and Bravo.
Clean House, which aired for nine seasons on Style, will also show up on Esquire — at least for the first week — filling the Wednesday, Sept. 25 morning block from 6am to 3pm ET.
At launch, Esquire had several original series including Knife Fight, Brew Dogs, Boundless and The Getaway. Similar to Style, Esquire will also help fill its programming schedule with blockbuster movies. The first few weeks, viewers of Esquire can expect titles like Ocean’s Thirteen, Casino Royale, Ghost Rider and Stripes, as well as popular series from Bravo like Million Dollar Listing, Chef Roble and Top Chef, and USA Network series like Psych and Burn Notice.
We will update you with further details on other former Style series as they are announced.
. To takes programs off in the early part of the season sucks. Tia and Tamera was one of my favorite programs on this channel.
YOU NEED TO BRING BACK THE STYLE NETWORK. I HAVE ALL MALES IN MY HOUSE, INCLUDING THE DOG, AND EVEN MY DOG WON’T WATCH ESQUIRE! BRING BACK THE STYLE NETWORK AND ALL THE SHOWS WE ALL LOVE!! WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANY OF THEIR PROGRAMS AND NEITHER ARE THE MALES IN MY HOUSE.
BIG MISTAKE! HUGE, HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!
HOPE THIS MESSAGE REACHES THOSE WHO MADE THIS BAD DECISION! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING….OR WERE YOU THINKING?!!!
This sucks. To takes programs off in the early part of the season sucks. Tia and Tamera was one of my favorite programs on this channel.
What will happen to “Empire Girls?’ I enjoyed watching that show.
WTF……I been waiting to watch jerseylicious and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t find it… im so mad. this is BS… need to bring style back all the way
Please don’t renew bill and self absorbed guliana
Most of the shows on the Style network were transferred to E!
The Style Network, which was known for stereotypically girly content like Campins’ Hot Listings Miami and the reality series Giuliana and Bill, has been rebranded into the Esquire Network, a cable network for men. And it all happened so suddenly, Campins told Gossip Extra, that the network canned her series mid-season.
Hot Listings Miami started strong, becoming Style’s most watched new show of 2013 in August of this year. But with the rebranding, the last two episodes of the eight episode series won’t show on the man-centric Esquire network.
Campins told the site that she was alerted just last week about the rebranding, but “actually, it’s a blessing in disguise.” That’s because the Style Network, which was launched in 1998 and operates under the NBCUniversal umbrella of networks, just never really got that popular.
“Many people couldn’t find the show on Style even when it was on,” she explained. “If we move to much bigger E! or Bravo, it’ll be better for us and the audience.”
Both E! and Bravo are also NBCUniversal-affiliated networks, and they’re both known for the sort of low-budget yet highly addictive reality tv genre that Hot Listings Miami exemplified. There’s also Oxygen, which also falls under NBCUni’s umbrella and is home to Bad Girls Club.
Update: Campins’ publicist confirmed to New Times that the series is under consideration at other networks.
This is BS !! I want my favorite shows back. I need to see Tia & Tamera and Jerseylicious. This is very upsetting !
WTH HAPPENED, THIS IS REAL BULL, ESQUIRE SUCKS BIGTIME, I WAS WONDEREING WHAY HAPPENED TO M Y RECORDINGS OF BILL & GUILLANA, AND HOT LISTING MIAMI. NO WONDER WHY YOU CANT GET THRU CALLING COMCAST ABOUT THIS, EVERYBODY IS TICKED. GET RID OF THIS STUPID CHANNEL, I WANT STLE BACK. WILL NOT WATCH ESQUIRE AT ALL.
This is really upsetting. No warning, is not right. I am leaving town for a week next week and just went to tape my shows while I was out of town and I freaked out ! Please bring back my shows, this is so sad and wrong, again, not even a warning ! Shame on you all !!!
We should ALL contact NBC who’s the one that owned Style network. Tell them if they’re not going to bring Style network back we want to see ALL of our shows integrated into their other channels.
Without realizing the change, I read the descriptions of these new shows “Knife Fight,” “The Getaway,” etc and thought “blech, what’s going on”? So what if Top Chef, Million Dollar Listing, etc are being shown on Esquire? I’m sure these are repeats of what I’ve already seen on Bravo. I don’t need to watch them again on Esquire. And Just what we need – more repeats of Sex and the City! I don’t need another channel which shows movies which I’ve already seen as many times as I wanted to if I wanted to see them at all.
I don’t say something like what I’m about to say often, if ever but – I hope Esquire FAILS BIG TIME!
I’m so mad about this! I didn’t even know it was happening until I went to see what was on Style and realized it was a completely different station! I think it would be really smart for other networks to pick up shows like Jerserylicious, Big Rich Texas/Atlanta, and Guiliana and Bill. Hopefully Bravo! Picks some of these shows up, I already love Bravo! and I Think that would really up their ratings!
I love Tia and Tamera! This is what I live for on Sundays! Bad move, come on get together. I am not watching the new channel.
What the heck am i going to do now. I am like obsessed with Jerseylicious. I am stuck in Germany away from home and all I was looking forward to was the new season. I think that I am going to go CRAZY!!! I just want to cry 🙁
I was wondering where all the shows I had been watching went. I didn’t even realize it was a different network at first. Then it hit me! I don’t recognize ANY of these shows! I looked up Esquire and none of the shows I loved showed up… Jerseylicious and the new Miami real estate show (I think it was called Miami Listings).
This really sux! Not even a warning? I have no interest in any of the shows on this new Esquire channel.
Let Bravo get rid of Real Housewives of New Jersey and take over Jerseylicious instead. I used to love RHoNJ but the last few seasons have been horrible. I don’t even watch it now.
Big, Rich Texas was a favorite of mine too. I know there are others that don’t come to mind right now because it caught me off guard. This new Esquire channel seems completely different than Style Network. I don’t understand this take over. They bought apples, everyone wants apples and they are changing it to oranges. No one wants oranges. Bad move. Really bad move.
I will not bd watching this network there were so many good shows on Style why would you get rid of it if its not broke why try and fix it sick of cable!!!
I WANT BIG RICH TEXAS AND JERSYLIOUS BACK…..WILL NOT WATCH ESQUIRE CHANNEL EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hate the new Esquire channel, will never watch it. Already miss Tia and Tamera and Giuliana and Bill. You guys really missed up this time.
I think getting rid of the style channel is sad. I dont
like the new esquire channel and wont be watching it.Iwant my Jersylious .
Big mistake BIG
I went to turn to Style & was caught of guard with this Esquire network it seems so boring & dull. They don’t have shows near a good as Style. There was absolutely no warning. I am going to miss.Tia & Tamera and i really do hope that other networks take up the other shows because if they were all just cut, then that’s messed up. Its not a great thing to say but i do have Esquire fails. It just seems like its going to be a network full of repeats of not original to the channel.
